:beer anyone plan on being out for the holiday?? have to play on the lake because were meeting friends there... hoping to see more of the "jet set" up on the still water. :beer

We are definately going but due to scheduling problems we were unable to secure a room anywhere. We will cove camp if we have to but we are bringing our kids and a sitter so we would rather have a room somewhere. If anybody has a place for rent or any idea's please let us know. Another option is to empty out the horse trailer or toy box and head out.

Well, Havasu survived another Holiday week-end.  The did close the channel part of the afternoon Sat & Sun; not sure about today, but conditions were much same.

Here's a quick news blurb on Windsor Launch Ramp...

Local business operators and one state official were crediting spring-like temperatures with making Memorial Day 2004 one of the busiest in recent memory.

Tim Cristof, Lake Havasu State Park-Windsor Beach assistant manager, said that this year may have been a little bigger than last. One way to measure the size of the crowd is by how early Windsor Beach has to close down its parking area, he said.

"The lines started before 7 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday, and we closed the ramps on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., and on Sunday at 9 a.m. We launched between 1,000 and 1,200 boats each day, turned 400 away on Saturday, and probably as many today (Sunday). It just seems that every year we get busier. We always have more demand than space," he said.

Cristof said that people who want to get into the water have two choices - either arrive early, or resign themselves to waiting until late afternoon, when others are coming off the lake.


"It seems a little heavier -the weather's a little nicer," Cristof said, commenting on the long lines of boaters waiting to launch their vessels. "People's moods are a little better. We haven't had any major incidents."

What's your personal take on it? I'll bet it was a real circus.  :beat

I usually do Glamis on Memorial because I can unload the buggy anywhere and not have to worry about fighting for a place at the boat ramp.  :good

IMAO, if you go with the crowds, expect to have sh*t happen.  I work to dang hard to afford the few POS toys I own. :)

No need to put yourself in harm's way and have some tweaker/punk rip off your stuff or run you over with his rental PWC.

YEA< it was a little crowded, but the thing that pissed me off is that when they closed the ramps CrazyHorse opened theres for $40.00 a boat :angry  :angry that's B.S.! after all we couldn't even let visitors in our camp with out the 3rd degree...

Hello ya'll, Newbie to your forum but not to the River and Havasu. We went out this past weekend only because I was picking up a new boat and as long as I could find enough water to float it, nothing was gonna keep me from gettin' wet.
At first we were just going to cruise through the gorge after breakfast at Topoc, but when we got down to the Sandbar (I have to admit it, I hate it that a few spoil it and we have to see such a fun spot lookin' all lonely) we decided it was still early and why not go see what's up at Havasu.....mistake.
The lake was a wee bit rough, but the channel wasn't too bad before noon. After a brief float and swim we shot back up towards Needles to beach and relax. All in all it was a great trip...although we did see a couple of guys punch a two foot hole in the side of a deck boat with their flat bottom jet. Not a nice noise!  :fight But everyone was OK.

It's a fact of Life:

After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......

Copper canyon was sick this weekend.  It was like being at a strip club that you don't have to pay for.  we had no problem launching our boat at crazy horse since we camped there.

The new boat is a bit different for me, and believe me I took quite a ribbing from my buddies - but it turned out to be a great ride and super family friendly (which means the wife loves it and I can now go play with a Schiada)
We got a Yamaha AR230. It is a blast to drive with the twin jets and it handled the chop pretty good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because of all the computer controlled stuff in there.

It's a fact of Life:

After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......

Thanks for the thumbs up Shue. I'll check out that site. I missed the Yamaha get together at Havasu in April.
It's driving me crazy that my wife made me promise not to wrench on it. The most she has let me do so far was replace some stock plastic parts with billet 6061 pieces, but after the first ride she agreed we need some board racks and of course tower speakers! :jumpie
