I was just lurking on HB reading the tread about RWYB, are any of the Havasu Dougers planning on going? Since my boat is still here I am concidering it, I would probably go up on Sunday the 26th for the day. Anyone???

I don't think they have changed the noise level on Lake Elsinore I work a few blocks from there and hear some pretty loud boats out there from time to time and I work saturday so i might show up sunday, no boat it's in arizona.

Have I passed you on the river?

I live here in Elsinore and I have never seen them enforce any noise laws on the lake, plus there arent any cops on lake patrol this early in the season.

I think "dry stacks" have always been an issue, other than races, but the rest sounds new to me. They did a big redevelopment a few years ago, and that may have been when the crackdowns started. I remember it being a free ride for hot laps & testing, but that may have changed :confused

It all depends on where you launch from and when you go... at which ramp did they turn you away? There are at least 5 public ramps, if one turns you away, go to the next!

I hadn't been there for awhile, but last year, it was in effect. Came with the hand-outs at West Marina, as I recall. Speed limit around the lake is 35mph :sleep

....not that many adhere to it...

Also, you have to have an "orange" helmet and racing PFD, kill lanyard, etc., if your going to make a speed run.

Best to get certified at the launch before going out....NOT that I'd have any issues.... :rolleyes

Back then only public ramp was the State Park, the rest were private. But even if you launched at a private one, they'd nail ya on the water!..

Things change I guess, it's always been 35 around the lake but anytime you wanted to make a pass or run laps, as long as you were in the speed zone it was cool even on weekends. I got warned a few times to go in the speed zone if I was going to go fast, didn't need helmets or anything although it is a very good idea, Lifeline jacket should be mandatory too!..

Yep....ain't NO WAY you could make a "hot run" after 10am on the week-ends. Just too many boats, PWC's, etc, going this way, that way, cuttin' through the middle.......just GONZO.... :eek
