Anybody have any trips planned for Christmas? We are considering blowing everybody off and heading out to the river or Glamis. Haven't figured it out yet but it's too hard to make everybody happy so we might as well make us happy.

We're sick of doing the extended family thing, too. I'm tired of deciding whose house is going to host. It's time to start doing our own thing, which involves 4 wheels and lot's of sand! We're heading to San Diego from the 23rd through the 27th to play tourist, then coming home to do a few loads of laundry, restocking the food and heading to Glamis this same day until the 3rd of Jan.

Since my family and my in-laws are in the same area, going home for the Holidays is usually a painfully stressful ordeal. This year we are foregoing the annual Holiday trip to visit family and just hang here in the desert. I will miss my mom's cooking and the day trip to Durango Mountain or Wolfcreek for day on the ski slopes, but at least we won't have to worry about pissin off any family members because we didn't spend enough time with them. :)

The kids have wet-suits on their Christmas lists so maybe we will hit the river a few times during Christmas break. :good

I am not a Gynecologist, but I'll take a look.

I went water skiing on Navajo Lake (San Juan River) on New Years Day in '83. All I had on was my trunks and and a Crown Royal buzz. The sun was shining but there was on ice on the shore. It wasn't too bad after I got up and got dried off. I dreaded going back in the water. My brother says that is the longest he has ever seen anyone ski slalom. :good

I am not a Gynecologist, but I'll take a look.

I haven't decided if we are leaving Xmas morning or the following day, but dirt is on the itinerary this year! :good

The kids get over 2 weeks off! :stupid  I don't have any idea what they'll be doing for half that. :rolleyes

You're going to miss out on some good skiing though, from what I've heard it's snowing pretty good in the San Juans this last couple of days.  :good

Purgy is getting off to a slow start. A recent storm and cold temps for snowmaking will hopefully have them open by 12/3. Wolfcreek has been open since mid-October :good

Well we changed our plans a little bit. We are heading to Parker for Christmas in stead of S.D., then coming home and heading to Dumont for New Years.

OK... so what to do for NEW YEARS...???

I'll be stopping in Blythe on Thursday evening the 28th of December.. ( on my way to Lancaster)
whats a good hotel where i wont have to worry about the boat getting "pilfered"   :confused
Planning on looking around the area for the evening, seeing whats around there  :beer  :love  Debating on putting the boat in the water since i'll have it in tow.  :stupid

My question is "what to do for NEW YEARS...??"
... anywhere around Southern California.
i've got nothing to do till the 3rd of Jan...
anything i should "check out"...?   :jumpie  :beer  :drink

Instead of stopping in Blythe, why not drive 35 miles north to Parker and enjoy the river there. You'll like it better.
