We have been going to the Lake for the past 10 years. On Sunday afternoon we were watching the storm build to the east side of the lake. I have only been caught by one storm before.

We were about 20 minutes from the launch ramp and headed back. Having our kids and grand kids with us I wanted to play it safe. Once back at the ramp I told my wife that we would strap the boat to the trailer and head out. The whitecaps on the lake completely covered the lake by the time we made it out of the park, and up where we could see. Boats had to wait out the 2 plus hours of storm to be safe.

We had not made it out of the park before the storm hit. The winds and rain was extremely strong. And the dust blowing was unbelievable. At times it was very hard to see. The boat and car was a mud pack. On Monday morning we had so much humidity, that the inside ceiling of the trailer was driping water from the humidity. But we closed out the day on Monday having a great time and glad that we exited Lake Havasu when we did.

Oh yes while we were strapping down the boat people were preping their boats to put in the water. I tried to tell two of them that they sould not, and watched one bimini top rip from one of the boats while driving away.

We were up at Moabi and watched to storm blow in. Decided to make the run back down to Havasu. It wasn't bad until we got back in Havasu. Went to the Chanel waited it out. It was warmer in the water that out. It seemed to move in pretty quick which was nice.

Seems that alot people made the mad dash to get off before the storm blew in. Which made it nice when we got off. :good

Them desert stoms will sneek up on ya if your not carefull. SOme fools just have to learn the hard way on what these storms can do in just a matter of seconds. :drama

Two years ago a buddy of mine got caught in one and thought he could put his boat on the trailer. The wind and waves slammed the boat hard enough that it broke the center hall of his boat. He did have the crack fixed and then sold his boat and got another one.

I guess heard from a friend at Parker about 8 last night, that it was pouring. And, had done so for over an hour.

Been there done that. Last 4th of July. At Body Beach with 5 other boats. Saw it coming from the west. Told the wife to start loading quickly. Got laughed at and jeered for being a party pooper. Got to Windsor and had to wait for all launching. 15 min. was a long time to watch the clouds coming closer and closer. Got the boat loaded and off we went, we thought, Couldn't see to drive. Before we were out of the parking area the sky just opened up. Not much wind or dirt put lots and lots of water.
