Have you ever ridden a bit more west of Barstow towards Boron? Some great riding out that way!   |
My parents own 40 acres bisected by the Sante Fe RR tracks that run between Hinkley and Boron. I've ridden there many times and only saw other people a few times over the years.  It's so desolate that we pack.   |
I know Hinkley. Don't drink the water Hinkley, or is it safe yet. |
We always brought our own. The funny part is we went there dozens of times before the water situation was exposed.  The Santa Fe engineers threw water cartons to us sometimes, too, thinking we might need it. |
I'm guessing that they no nothing of the water and were just being nice. |
Correct.  This was when we were on foot away from our camp. |
It always amazes me where you can meet nice people. One day there could be somebody on this site talking about throwing water out the window of a train. There really are good people everywhere. |
It was "official" Santa Fe Railroad water, too, with their graphics printed on the side just like a milk carton. |
I used to rent a building up the street from the current Eliminator, My next door neighbors was a SFR way station, they had to buy they're own water. |
My experience was from around 1974 to around 1979. What about yours?   |
About 94 thru 97. A bit of difference. "Damn you sure know how to fock things up."-GFR
