I'm in need of a tranny person I can trust that will fix the issue and not make me drop and grab my ankles when it's time to pay.   I live in Gilbert and work in Tempe.  Mesa is not far from home.

It's an '02 2500HD with I think the 4L80E. 6.0 motor. Sometimes it slides into 3rd. other times it shifts fine. Only 3rd gear rest is fine and temp has no bearing.  No Check Engine light.

Well I think I know what's wrong but I haven't messed with those enough so I ain't going to say, but I know a guy that builds trannys for a living and works on those all the time and he does it on the side at home too and he does "good" work(a fkn miracle around here)if you're interested I'll give you his number and you can hook up, let me know!..

sound like 2-3 shift soeinoid but that's a total guess the only way to tell is a scanner like a tech2 at a dealer. or find a shop with real good scanner ie;snap on or mac..

I bought a wrecked 98 cab and chassis for the engine to put in my Dad's truck. I am going to hold on to the 4L80E and diesel computer for my 1938 Chevy truck. I just want to get it checked out to make sure it's OK.
