My truck has a 4-speed manual transmission in it. I was pulling my boat up the big hills to lake tahoe this weekend and was having a hard time.  One gear was to high and the other to low.  Do they make a 5-speed manual tranny for this thing? '87 GMC.

I had a '97 with a 5 speed. I don't know if it will bolt in or not. The fifth gear was more of an overdrive.....

I heard of a aftermarket 5-speed that the lows are lower and the highs higher. I just don't know what it's called or were to find one.

I would check into a Gear-Vendor, you can split the gears and you'll have 8 speeds and overdrive, I sure like mine!.. :good
