Actually, the early Chargers were a pretty good team. San Diego wanted them to move there and made Paris Hilton's grandpappy a heck of a deal to make the move. :good

The first helmet I ever had as a kid had "Bolts" on the sides!
They were my second favorite team (behind the Jets). :D

Correct, and prior to that, the Dons were a good team.  The big problem for the Dons and the Chargers was that the Rams moved here as the reigning NFL champs and they were the first major league pro team to win a championship in L.A. Plus, even when they didn't have great seasons, they were still about the most exiting team in the league to watch, in the late 40s and throught the 50s. :jumpie  The Chargers had the additional problem of playing in the AFL and back in 1960 (when they were in L.A) the AFL was considered minor league.

I think if the Jets hadn't beaten the Colts the whole league would be different today. But maybe that's just the Jets fan in me......still gotta hand it to Broadway Joe though. :D
