This ones old news. BLM is washing there hands of it too. The Water Reclaimation peeps or getting stuck with it. I could write you pages on this one. I personaly think all the beaches look a whole bunch better now that the vendors are gone. |
I see both points but I kinda thought it was nice to have a place to grab a cone, soda or bag of ice without having to get off the water. I also thought it was cool for a tourist visiting for the day to have the option of walking on to the beach and renting a jet ski for an hour or two to get out on the water. I sorta think the lakes big enough for both and you only really see the vendors in Tompson Bay or the channel. There's not much clean shoreline in there anyways. |
Don't get me wrong, I'm on the vendors side too. I do think a couple of the jet ski companies did abuse the priviledge though. They really didn't have to have them each 10 yards from each other covering the whole beach.

On another forum I was a member to there was a thread I started about movie quotes. That got pretty fun seeing the many obscure and classic movie quotes people would come up with. However, that's not a Havasu Rumor! haha

Lot's of LEO's along Rice rd in Desert Center. I noticed them Monday.
The cool lady that runs Magoo's told me it's because the state is moving a brutal child sex offender into Desert Center near Rice rd.
Evidently the locals are ultra pissed off.

My query wasn't in deference to your posts. I was hopin' that it wasn't TH. I've always loved the food there; even when its rep declined a tad. Was the first place that the Wife found and treated us to when we lived in Havasu for a brief time in '83. Sorry for the misunderstandin'.
Not to "jack" the thread; there was a great BBQ place downtown called "The Elegant Pig" in '83 that was the absolute kick-a$$ bomb. Wasn't open very long.
OK, you've passed through the "Outer Limits"; you can have control of your thread again. |
No worries Gig, I'm not holding back anything, I just don't know yet.

Update on the Jeff's Muffler fire... The wife tells me it was a broom in the shop that caught some of the sparks from welding. The building was empty at the time. The broom was the only real casualty and it was just smoking a lot. Fire Dept. saved the day!

It wasn't bad today either ......Saturday will surely be a bit busier and rougher but I kinda think its the calm before the Labor Day storm of boaters

Could've used a bit more notice for this.
BTW, PWC's are still in season. |
I'll chip in for the bounty!
On the water or the road, makes no difference!
BTW, how far does Havasu Gossip go? As far north as Topock?
Looks like that Pirate joint across the river has snagged a bunch of business from Topock Marina.....we had the place to ourselves at breakfast....talk about deja vu!
It's a fact of Life:
After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......
