I am just being hammered by the sobig virus e-mails again today. Over 100 on one account and 50+ on another.

If they ever catch the person that developed this one, they shoud just kill them and ask questions later. :guns

That sucks. :angry  Even if you don't get infected, it's still a pain in the ass to deal with the emails.  My computer WAS infected last summer and it took my a week to recover. :eek

2 days to go and the Sobig.f Virus will be gone....it's made to stop on Sept. 10 (sept 9 is last day for it to spread) I have received over 5000 emails since it started! :angry   What a pain in the ASS! :ass

I'm right there with you guys.  I haven't had them in awhile on my work email cuz the IS guys actually did something right this time and fixed it... but my personal email is pissing me off.  

When they catch them...l think they should put them in front of a computer all day in a room with nothing but a desk, lamp and a computer and make them delete 50,000 of those things a day... Then, after a month of that, we can cut off his balls.   :angry  :bebe  :ass

The Sobig virus "spoofs" email addresses.  Basically what it does is put an email address in the "from" line to make it look like it came from that email address when in actuality, it didn't.  In the past few weeks I have received emails from folks from this board and others with the Sobig virus, but I know that they didn't actually send them so I didn't mention it to anybody.  I also received return emails from Autoresponders and servers that said that I had sent an email with a virus, when I didn't.....it just looked like I did.  I actually shut down my SMTP port (25) on my router to not permit outgoing emails, but still received messages that I had sent virus infected emails.....which I couldn't have.

Anyway, no worries now.....the Sobig virus ended transmitting yesterday.  Today you shouldn't get it anymore.
