No new updates for my project :( . Its been set aside for the time being. My dad was recently diagnosed with Cancer so I've been helping and doing a lot for him.  Looks like we will most likely be getting treatment through Loma Linda Hospital.

So far my dad is dealing with it ok. Right now he's getting a pre-treatment treatment to prepare for the actual treatment ;)

Jan had surgery a couple weeks ago too....hopefully her back pains will subside.

Being a caretaker is exhausting but it seems I might get a break for a bit. Jans close to being normal again and dad is, as I said, dealing with it. I just have to be on the ready.

Well it appears my project is gonna move forward again.

I've been searching for a licensed bug or pan to build upon. Thought I found the perfect one the other day but the guy hadn't registered or non-op'd it so past due license fees were more than what he was selling the car for......I kinda wanted it just because the renewal date was on my birthday, but it didn't make $ sense. :(
So my search continued.

I found another car that I plan on purchasing and after doing the registration research I couldn't believe my eyes, the renewal  date on this one isn't my B'day but instead its Jans.   :jumpie  What are the chances of that? :rolleyes

So I have ordered a body and chassis and in 4-5 weeks I should hopefully begin the assembly of this buggy.
When its all said and done it should look something like this:
15" front travel and 16" in the rear.

The full tube chassis is jigged. Rear will have 5x5 arms and Fox coil overs(non-res), front I decided to run a beam vs the trendy A-Arm because the beam drives better on the road. A-Arm type tend to kinda "chine walk" or wander a bit and the cars have a significamt amount of body roll when turning.
So the Beam will be 6" over with 4" over arms with Fox coilovers again.
Rear suspension cycles a touch over 16" and the front cycles 14 7/8"(15")

I will most likely run a built up bus gearbox and aircooled vw power of some sort. I have considered subaru power but I will perhaps switch to that some time in the future.



Today I started cutting the old pans off the vw chassis and readying that for new pans.

Tomorrow I take dad to the hospital to get casted for the radiation he'll start next week.
