My project took a left turn. Did some rethinking and am gonna start with a different chassis, beam type instead of building a custom front end on this SuperBeetle.

So if anyone needs a few used parts let me know, I'm probably just going to part out what is on this car cheap and scrap the body/chassis, although it has title so might have some value.
I have:
IRS trans.(told it works, seems ok)
Empi style 8 spoke wheels(nice condition)
2 bucket seats that fit onto stock seat rails.(worn)
Both doors with glass.
Back and both side rear windows.

Not much else left on this thing, I suppose front and rear suspension and brake components.

That's what I was going to build but decided just to find a beam pan instead so the cage isn't as extensive/intensive(aka expensive :p )
My original plan would have required a jigged chassis/frame coupled to the pan instead of a simpler custom cage attached to the pan. I really don't plan on high jumpin' the thing, too old to worry about crashing :rotflmao  Still planning on being mid-travel but its mainly to have a reliable and fun car to cruise all over the place in.

I did sell the SuperBeetle body/chassis this weekend. Wife is glad to have it out of the driveway. Started fixing a couple minor things on the sandrail yesterday, get it ready for the Craigslist fury of sales activity :rolleyes  :p

Once that is sold I can get more serious about the Manx project, unless of course I happen to find the right project starter chassis.

All this talk about a Manx has got me wanting to get mine out of the trailer and start working on it again, I just don't have room.
I think I'm going to set mine up for dual purpose so I can go dune riding. :jumpie

Looking for a full size IRS pan with a Beam front end....titled and licensed so I can just do what I want without hassling with dmv.

Not looking for a real Manx, but one of the clones that is bigger and seats four adults.

My intention is to build it so I can use it on the road as well as in the dunes respectfully.

I think Mendeola in San Diego is the Manx dealer in my neighborhood. Awesome cars but real expensive.
