Figured I ask this here since the tow vehicle forum has been dormant for a couple years.
.
Anyone have or had experience with the Banks Power TransCommand module?
I've always hated how my 4R100 transmission shifts, slow and lazy, especially if I got my 5th wheel in tow. It's been suggested I add this little gem to get those crisper, more deliberate shifts I've always craved and eliminate all the clutch slippage.
Any comments gladly accepted, particularly those real world experiences.
Next I'd ask Kevin how much he can get me one for? :D  :D

Well, I have no hands on experience with that, but for what it's worth I know a couple of people that used it and both said they like it a lot :stupid Nothing worse than a slush box. :banghead

I believe the part number is BP62570 for the Banks kit.

That's that electronic crap for ya :beat 4L60E is the same thing, been trying to find a cheap core to play with, I'd like to try and make it full manual using toggle switches, think that would be cool. :good Yeah, pretty hard to beat a TH400/350 with a Transgo -2 kit in it. :good

It wasn't a kit.  :D   My dad had it rebuilt by some guys that were on Hatcher back in the 70's. Lets just say they made some tweeks to it. They did a lot of racing tranny's back then.

Pretty much the same thing, I'm sure they took out the safety feature out so it'll stay in gear or drop down a gear at any rpm which is what a kit does, if all you wanted was a firmer shift all you need to do is enlarge one tiny hole in the separator plate, kits give you a new plate with that hole enlarged. :D

I'd skip that electronic crap too. Go to a Speed shop and get a "Racing" shift kit.  :good
