I always wondered about that, guess you still need electricity then as backup, I'm sure if the clouds get really thick there wouldn't be enough power up the house.

So I guess you just flip a switch to go back to APS on $hitty days then, or is it automatic when power drops to a certain level.

Thats what I'm looking for as well. Should be super low. I realy don't have anything to compare to since the AC was replaced. With the old unit last Sept bill was $300. Last month was $185. So we will see.

Replaced the front porch light and the back porch light. Back one was a beat up sad looking 2 flood light fixture that had one yellow bulb in it. The front is over the entry way and was a globe that looked like something granny would have. Entry I put a square black with glass fixture that has 2 bulbs. The back is now a standard wall mount, black with a hanging jar looking piece. Also finally put a light kit on the master bedroom fan.

Back porch light was mounted with a modified bracket with a single bolt holding the flood light fixture. The bracket was mounted to the j-box as it should. I round filed it all. Front porch was just an old fixture.

With all this rain the past month, I haven't seen any green on the hacked down oleanders in the back yard for over 2 weeks. I hope the ground clear I have been spraying on them is taking it's toll on them. I was only having leaves trying to grow on 4 for the past 2 plus months. Every time any of the 4 had leaves, they all got a little drink. I was expecting at least a few of them to try and come back with all the rain, But, so far nothing.
Front yard is just about all covered with grass now and the back yard grass is starting to come in nicely. This is all from the rains we have been having. Haven't turned the sprinklers on in the front in almost a month. Once all the leaves have dropped off the tree's in the back. I need to figure out how to trim them up and not kill them. I think they are a maple. Been told they are pretty hardy and will come back. Should have done them last year , just didn't get it done so now they are out of control.
Spent the weekend hanging shelf's in the bathrooms and towel bars in the master. Thinking about repainting the master bathroom white. I don't know why they painted the whole house a semi gloss white and did the master bath in an egg shell. Hall bath is white as well. Also in the hall bath the vanity was removed and a pedestal sink was installed. Looking at putting the cabinet back with a counter top and sink. No place to store anything right now if you wanted.
Still working on the garage here and there. Still have electrical to do. Still have the wall and concrete to do on the north side of the house. The south side looking at knocking the wall out and putting in a gate. South side will be a shed will go for all the yard stuff so I can get it out of the garage.
SOOOOO many things to do. Little time and funds to do it. I guess all in due time.

Yeah, seems like it never ends, and as you get $hit done you see something else that ain't right and it just keeps going on and on.

Worked on the office over the weekend. Went to the HomeDepot and picked up one of the 36x72x18 black wire shelf's and put it on casters. Took all the stuff that I had on the floor and put it on this shelving unit. This way when I get working on the office, I can wheel it around out of the way with the stuff on it and not have to move the stuff individually. With doing that, It made it so I can get to the file cabinets. So I dove into them and filed a bunch of stuff and condensed files to make room for 2019. This also gave me a better idea on what I need file space wise when I setup a better desk, drawers and cabinets to store things.
Now to get started on the walls pulling paneling off. Going to work one wall at a time starting with the one I started with that has the entry and closet doors. Not sure what I'm going to do, but will figure it out as I go on the first one.

I hope so. really not sure what I'm going to do yet for a desk and storage. All I have now it a 4 drawer and 2 drawer file cabinets and a desk with no drawers I have had for several years and not meeting my needs anymore. Other than that I have nothing to store anything

I decided to go an adventure into the attic Sunday morning. I found some interesting things. A table that looks to be used possibly as a quilting or needle point as there was no top but a frame with the legs and then outside frame that clamped on. A couple metal bed frames, 4 12"x12" double pain windows, Headrests from a car, an exhaust manifold for what looks to be a 4 banger, 1" wooden blinds, the second rack for the stove , 3 unopened boxes of flooring that look to match whats in the living room, box of 6 large canning jars, a neck brace, some roofing materials, and a pile of what looks to be trim and base board stuff. There was and antenna mounted up there as well along with what looks to be a brass shelf unit that was just the frame. There are cables running all over from a satellite TV system. There is still a dish on the roof with a second bracket for another dish I still need to remove. I found a thermometer about 10 ft in hanging from a joist just beyond the antenna facing the opposite direction of the ladder in the garage where I accessed the attic. On the joist with the thermometer was a single gang electrical box screwed to the joist. There was a switch that was hanging down by its bottom screw screw from the gang box. No wires connected to it but there were wires coming from a 4 gang box to the 2 gang that were spliced into a cable. I didn't have any tools to check if they were hot or not. These may have been the wires on the one breaker I don't know what it was for in the breaker box.
Someone had placed some plywood just inside the ladder opening and there was about a 1x6 down the middle of the attic that made it nice to move about from the ply wooded area.
All in all it wasn't to bad. I do need to spend more time investigating and cleaning the electrical and tv cables.
