Thanks!!! Â Now to get the rest done. Â
Picked up 3 of them 5000 lumen lights from the china store to hang in the garage. I'll get them hung so I know where I want outlets. I may go get a couple more for over the work bench and sewing and cutting area for more direct lighting. we'll see how these do for now.

I might go get 3 more as well. Even if I don't use them I will make sure they work and put them aside.

I got one hung after work yesterday. That's some light!!! Going to try to get the other two up this afternoon. I'll plug them into an extension cord just to see that they work. Need to get them up so I know where about I need the outlets. Still may go get three more. For $20 they are bright.

Didn't get them up yesterday. Made it my weekend project since I have to move the trailer out to get to that side of the garage.

Quote (BigDog @ Mar. 05 2018,11:02 am) | Sunday morning I decide to out to the front and remove what someone has setup 2x4's as a border for a planter that had a few dead plants along the sidewalk by the street. In that area. they also buried a 4" drainage PVC tube the whole length. That came up easy. What I didn't know is that whomever put the 2x4's in place used rebar that's at least 1/2" in diameter to hold them. "No Problem" I said. We will just dig down and pull them out. They cant be that long. Â Â Â Â Â I was down about a foot and a half and still couldn't pull or twist the things out. SOOO I go into the garage, fire off the air compressor and grab my 3" cutoff wheel on my air drill. Put a few drops oil in it, drug the hose across the yard and cut 2 of them bastards off as far down as I could. Â Â Â I think I have 6 more to do and will do the same thing if need to. Oh and yes I pulled up all the dead plants and cleaned everything up for now.
I understand that the 2x4's need to be held in place. 1 ft stake, rebar or anything would have more than done the job in this case. |
I finally went out Saturday to finish this project. Three holes I needed to dig and I will have all these boards out. WELL!!! When I got to the last one next to the driveway I had to work around the sprinkler that "was" there. I say "was" because this couple hour project turned into an all day extravaganza. First of all the last piece of rebar was bent over and not on the board as it was cut off short of were the rebar was. I dug down and cut that off like the rest. As for the sprinkler. The 3/4 water lines were only about 2" below the dirt line. The sprinkler was plumed with a 1/2" screwy flex hose that went into the side of this sprinkler. The Sprinkler was about 10" long. The sprinkler was being held up by 4 good sized river rock. The feed line was at a 45* angle that went across the yard towards the middle. It came down to where the sprinkler tagged in and continued back across the yard to the south side to the sprinkler on that side of the yard. Only way I was going to be able to sink the line down in the ground further was to gig up the lines no less that 20' in each direction. So I decided to dig about a foot each way and do what I could. I cut this junction out where the jacked up sprinkler was and redid it all and moved the sprinkler 3' down to the corner of the driveway and the sidewalk where it needed to be. Once the tree stump in rotted out and I can dig that up. We are going to pull the sprinklers up and rototill the yard and not worry about the current sprinkler lines and redo it all CORRECTLY.

That sucks, sounds like the same person that wired up the place did the sprinkler system.

Pretty much. I showed the neighbor across the street what I pulled up. All he could do is shake his head.

All that $hit must have been done without permits, can't see any inspector approving any of that work that was done there.

Oh I know there couldn't have been a permit. Any inspector in their right mind wouldn't have approved any of this crap.
Hung the other 2 lights in the garage yesterday afternoon. Much nicer in there. Can almost see what I'm doing. Still going to hang one over the work bench and another over where my sewing machine will be. Will do that one once everything is done so I know exactly where it needs to be.

Yeah, them lights are awesome, can't have too many of them, and a good thing they are super cheap to run.
