Well, I got Starlink so no more buffering and speed fluctuations here, also went to Wi-Fi 6 that made a difference too.
Bought a new cordless weed eater gonna give that a shot, hopefully we're done with this rain crap for a while and I can get rid of this Jurasik Park for a while.

Starlink eh??? HMmmm?? Need to look like into that. COX sucks!! Speed is so inconsistent.
Well, this has been a monday. Started out having 2 stops this mornong. Ended up being 5. After the second stop I get a message the dryer at home went to the promise land. Problem was I couldn't go back home. I have a bunch of things that came up and had to get done. I was finally done down town about 2:30. On the way home I stopped at the place we got the washer from last year And got a dryer. got it home and in place so the load in the washer could be dryed.

Sounds like fun, I've had days like that before.
I've had Starlink for over a year now and it works great, and just keeps getting better as they put up more satellites, even in bad weather I haven't ha a problem yet, I think it's well worth the money.

I went and looked at Starlink. Looks like $120 a month. Nice thing is it looks unlimited data. I don't understand what the $5oo extra equipment is.

All the equipment belongs to you, no rental BS, you own it if you move you take it with you. Yep, unlimited data, and I've seen download speeds 350+. As long as you have no obstructions towards the North you're all set.
Some good reading here too.
Starlink.

Little more info. Why can't I use my router? Doesn't seem like their router has but 2 ports.
Got the joint replaced on the truck. Had one hell of a time getting the rear on out of the shaft. And the Zerk fittings are a joke. I couldn't find normal ones. I had to find a needle that would work to grease them up. And they only let half into the joint and the other half on the outside to make a mess. I' will be doing research and get normal fittings. So far I THINK they are 5mm thread that no one had around here that I could find so far.

The old router didn't have any ports, you had to have an adapter, new one has ports and W-Fi 6, but you can use your router, I bought a new W-Fi 6 all you do is bypass the Starlink router which is done in the app, then Starlink becomes just a power supply, or you can just get an adapter to have more ports, either way works.

Speaking of routers. Don't know if you remember that I replaced my router about 4 years ago. Then it had issues about 3 weeks in and I had to send it back to Asus. I went and got a Netgear same day sent to me from Amazon so I could get back going. Well the Netgear has been acting funny for a couple months and I though it was COX. I did get the Asus back after about 3 weeks and I have had it stashed away just incase. I decided to pull it out and connect it up to see what would happen. Well It confirmed the Netgear was the one lagging. I know the Asus needs to have firmware upgraded, I need to get that figured out as it wants to but doesn't seem to be able to. Part of the issues we were seeing was Hulu guide was REAL chunky to go through on the new TV. Not now!! Will give it a couple days and see what ells has improved. I know the internet speed on my PC is better as well.

Yeah, routers can be a pain sometimes, and you gotta keep up on the Firmware too especially being that old, it's getting to be outdated, maybe that's why the Firmware won't update??, if you use it on W-Fi it may be slow too now that W-Fi 6 is out, I noticed it on my old one, big difference when I got the new one.

I can manually download and install the firmware, I have done several but have more to do. I have been looking at routers and seeing some with WiFi 6. I haven't heard of it. I may just get a new one and call it a day. Just not sure what to get that won't break the bank. Kind of leaning on another Netgear but a different model.

Wi-Fi 6 has been out for a while now, there is a noticeable difference too, I have a TP-Link with 5 ports, had it for almost a year now, been working flawlessly so far.

I'm still poking at a few with WiFi 6. I'm really not sure about this ASUS that I have now. Might have been the cat's meow when I got it 4 years ago, but I don't think it's up to date for todays technology. Security settings seem to be limited. If I get another router this might be a good back up, But that's about it. Not sure what to do about COX. Sh!t goes up and down like a yoyo. Thats the only service in our area. They advertise "Fiber", Thats not even available in our area. Starlink looks to be pretty reliable, But can't swing that right now. Guess I'll have to live with COCKS for now.

Myself I would not bother with a 4yr old router that is outdated for sure, on the shelf for a backup would be a good place for it. I've had my TP-Link now for quite awhile now and no complaints whatsoever Save up your pennies and get Starlink.

I'm going to flip it out, Just haven't had a whole lot of time to poke around and see what looks good. Then get time to swap it out. Will kick everyone out of the house to get it done.

Well jumped the broom and got a Netgear AX2400 (RAX30). Since the Indy race is postponed due to rain, Gave me time to get this swapped out. Isn't sh!t on TV so that helped as well. This seems to be quicker all around. Time will tell.
Saturday morning got GF's moms car washed then ran a couple errand's. This morning the Colorado got a bath. Came in to get breakfast and get ready to watch the race that hasn't started. Tomorrow I need to knock this yard down to a dull roar.

Forgot. Drug the old dryer to the garage to check it out. All looks good. I was going to slap a heating element in it and ship it down the road. But that seems to be good. Checked the switch and that seems to be working. Not sure why it doesn't want to heat up. I have a feeling it may be the timer. Need to research and see what that goes for if it's worth fixing or just sh!t can the thing.
Also. I have a Monte Carlo in the driveway that it mysteriously has issues. At the same time the trunk switch, Directionals, Hazards and door locks stopped working. Still have wipers. I have gone through all the fuses and have swapped out a couple relays. All them look good. I guess it's time to break out the test light and see what I have where. DO one thing at a time and hopefully I will run across whatever the daughters significant other did to it. Even though he was told not to touch or even look at it. He drove it and all this crap happened. He claims he didn't do anything.

Looks like you got a fun day ahead of you, and when they say they haven't done anything, that's a real bad sign.

Yea The boy is a real piece of work. Boy has no idea what end of a screw driver to use where. I made suggestions but he still doesn't get it. Screwing up a two car funeral is the least of his worries.

Nope!! We all had a good laugh. The boy went and bought a Road Glide. He had to get a Harly to be a "Biker". Now he is scared of the thing. He's going to turn into road kill.

Been dicking with this Monte Carlo. We are thinking it may be the Body Control Module. With all the other symptoms, I left the battery connected overnight and it killed the battery. So I put the charger on it. Once the battery was charged, I connected it back up and heard the door locks activate. It unlocked the car, but the buttons still don't work. I'm going to find someone that can connect up to this pig and look at the BCM or anything ells in hopes they see something. Little research I have found that the BCM very well could be the culprit. Also there are times that with a good battery it will struggle to start.
Told the buddy with the Vega, If I had the time and cash this thing would turn into rear wheel drive.

Yea I do too. Haven't found a definitive issue yet causing these issues. Work has been a beotch with the co worker out this week. I have been running from one end of this valley to the other. Have another busy day already set for tomorrow. I'm going to try to check a few more things this weekend hopefully before it gets to hot out
