Todays project was strip the brakes off, press bearings off and toss backing plates and hardware into the solvent tank for a bath.

After a good scrub, they got new wheel cylinders, spring kits, shoes and seals.

Then to the press for new bearings and spacers. I'm waiting on one e brake cable that was damaged when I bought the rear end.

Previously I had cut off and cleaned the housing for new spring perches, those are on order but I need to hold off on that for now, I'll need to measure for spring spacing and pinion angle, and with the truck 250 miles away (Parker) that will be tough.

Tomorrow will be calling around about a gear set (5.29's) and a locker, Probably Detroit.

With the rear axle having about as much done as I can do, the next step will be to move forward to the Ruff Stuff custom front axle I have on the bench. It's a bare housing that came with a crate of parts, so pull it down  spread it out and see what I have.

No pictures cause I'm tired and the stupid time change kills me. Maybe tomorrow.

Hate waiting for parts, shipping sucks the big one anymore. Hate that time change, glad we don't have to worry about that crap.

here we are with the latest update, I have about 6 hrs in a rear skid plate/armor getting it to fit right, Jeesuus you think a company could do a little mock up.

So the next step will be money, the third needs to be sent out to my buddies at Yotamasters in Corona for a Detroit locker and a set of 5.29's

$$$$$$$$$ ugh. I don't trust myself to set up a R&P.

I do still need to weld the spring perches but I need the truck here to get pinion angle right, and spacing.

So on to the front axle, I'll post up when I dig it off the bench.
