I just finished week #10. My job is so cool. I love it. Last week were doing night stop senarios. We had the Sheriff Dept. helicopter come in during our night stops. They ended up landing and they showed us everything and how it works. We had canine come in as well. Next Tuesday we are going to watch an autopsy. I believe we are still hiring. if anyone is interested. I know there are two more academy's all ready chosen to come in behind us. The next one is starting in about 2 weeks. I still have three more months to go.

Hey Dave, which Department is it?  My nephew is based at Camp Pendleton in the Marines right now but is getting out next month.  He was gonna go straight out of the military and into the El Segundo PD, but from how his fiancee explains it, it may not be the best PD to work for.  I'm sure he'd be interested in other departments that have openings.....

My other nephew just got on with the Sacramento County Sheriff Dept and starts POST in March. :good

It's the Riverside County Sheriffs Department. Were hiring right now too. The next academy starts on Jan. 15. I'm pretty sure they are doing backgrounds for the one after that right now. I'm not sure how many more positions there are.

I did some research for you. They are having written exams every month from Jan.- June. You can go on the Riverside County Sheriff Department web site and look into that kind of thing.

One of these days if you see us out on break,stop by and say hi. I'll be out of there before you know it. Staff will be busy with junior class really soon so. I can't wait to watch their "BLACK FRIDAY".
