I take mine down off of my house in the first few days of the  new year. Since you have them on a double wide, I think that you should just leave them up, nobody would notice and the added weight may help hold it down during a wind storm!!  :D  :D  :p

Can't decide on the the lights yet, great ideas everyone, but we did have our traditional after-xmas bonfire....!!!!

The kids love to hear the ornaments "pop" in the fire and the pastel painted tumbleweed snowmen really burn HOT..!!!!

Well I've put them up in rain before :rolleyes ...don't see why I couldn't take em down that way......think I should unplug them first? :stupid
This one time I was on the roof and I could tell it was getting stormy but kept on working on them.....no rain at that moment yet but once I heard the crack of thunder I was down that ladder in a hurry :eek  :eek ...mission was completed too :D

After all these years I finally found the answer to that dilemma.......don't put the damn things up to begin with. :D

I got off easy this year since the front was re-landscaped recently and I didn't want to "disturb the new growth".......hey, it worked.

Of course next year it'll probably be fiber-optics all over the place. :stupid

It's a fact of Life:

After Monday and Tuesday, even the Calendar says : WTF .......

I have everythng down (including the lights  :eek ) and boxed up.  I put the light boxes away in the barn, but can't get the heavy ones.  The tree is epty, but still in the living room.  Jeff is still to sick to do anything.  This is the sickest I have seen him since . . . I don't remember. That flu knocked my workaholic husband on his ass!  

So the tree is still up making my house smell yummy and the porch is full of rubbermaid bins.  No biggy.  I don't sweat the small stuff.

Yep, too much this year.  I had to move up to a 10 x 20' storage just to keep the xmas stuff and summer stuff organized...!!!  Next year, RED PORCH LIGHT & that's it... :laugh

I switched to alot of LED lights this year & last.  Cost less that a dollar to light up for the month...(TRUE..!!;)... :good

Problem is, they don't FADE, so I can't get that "up all year" look that I desire... :laugh
