The boat can be registered where it's used most. Â You can register it in Arizona even with a California address, as long as the boat is used the majority of the time in Arizona...Havasu and the Colorado River are considered Arizona waterways. Â
There is no title on a boat, just the registration. and I believe if it is already has an AZ # you can transfer the registration without a visit to the fish cops, give them a call or check the web page.
However, the trailer must be titled in California if you're a resident of California. And you'll need to do that (transfer the trailer title) through the DMV.

A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.

Good luck with keeping the AZ registration. Without a street address, it might be tough to get done.
The Cali DMV Nazi's say it belongs to them since you live in Cali. If it's stored for more that 45 days in the state, they will get you for the Personal Property taxes at least.
Cali stickers are $10 for two years on my 2000 "POS" Yami and my trailer is "permanent"; never pay fees again.
Insurance is around $400/year for the $15k boat, full liability, etc.
Of course, that's my situation; again, good luck with the new boat...

Nope not a problem, the boat sits on the trailer not on the road, the trailer does!. I've always had my boat registered in AZ since the 70's when I lived in CA. All you have to do is put down on the paperwork is that it's used mainly in AZ and nobody can say anything to you on CA waters because they can't prove you don't use it on AZ water!..If you live in CA the trailer has to be registered in CA because it goes down the road!.
