I'm not really into roller coasters, but this is what I got talked into last night.  The train is launched from 0 - 82 MPH in 2.3 seconds in order to make a 90 degree vertical climb of 205 feet. :eek It makes a 90 degree vertical drop down the other side, followed by a 110 foot tall high banked turn, then a 90 foot tall high banked turn.  It's called Xcelerator. :eek

Megan's done it 4 times. :D  I only did it because she did.  She gets car sick easily, but didn't get sick on this, so I did it.  Even though you don't go in circles, I still felt a little dizzy afterwards. :eek

I don't think I could do that. I love speed and fast turns but drops really get to me. The roller coaster at California Adventure is hard core enough for me.

For whatever reason, the drop on Xcelerator doesn't seem that bad.  Maybe it's because you're still in shock from the 4G acceleration. :eek I haven't done the roller coaster at California Adventure, but I would.  Sometimes it's just easier to do it than fight it. :rotflmao  I put off the Xcelerator long enough, but my day came finally. :eek

It's in the North West corner of the park right off La Palma Ave.  That park is very different from the old days.  Prior to last March, I had only been there twice in 39 years. :eek  Since Megan likes it so much, we go there around twice a month now as catsmeow bought us annual passes for my B-Day last year. :good

BTW Art, the makers of that ride built one in Ohio that is twice as tall (400 feet) and goes from 0 - 120 MPH in under 4 seconds. :eek

Damn I guess it's changed, it was in the late 80's the last time I was there, just before my daughter went into the service. Montezuma was the kick ass ride then!..

Looks like some of the track set ups I had for my HOT WHEEL cars back in the day :eek  :eek  Difference is my cars often didn't make it  :D  :D

And you are so right Doug, its WAY different than I remember. I recall as a child my bank was tucked in at the northeast corner of the property where they had a small kiddie train to ride.
