Aside from KC's spelling, there is a difference.
You asked so here you go. 
The basic difference is what they use to produce mechanical work.
General rule of thumb is that Engines use thermal energy of some form (steam, petrochemical combustion) while Motors convert electrical energy into mechanical work.

They also go in outdrives.....and go out when you forget to replace... Nothing like frying the heads on your "engine" 'cause you forget to service your $5 impeller....
