So, I've been a lurking poster for about a year now, and have noticed that everyone pretty much goes to Parker, Havasu, Needles and Mohave. Does anyone go to the river further south, like Walters camp or Pichacho?

We've never been down that far, either. We've been to Mead a couple of times, but it's too big for our boat. Isn't FBC down below Parker? Big River, I think. Some people from here attend that event.

We prefer cove camping on Lake Mohave out of Cottonwood. Complete seclusion and quiet. Or staying at Cottonwood motel is really nice. You can run into Searchlight have dinner and play blackjack with "Maddog and Jethro" then go on back. Actually really nice people in Searchlight.

Shueman, nice picture from your jet man! Where do you land?
Besides the Colorado River chain....(Mead, Mohave, Havasu and the river in between) we'll hit anything with water from Shasta down. Don Pedro, San Antonio, Nacimiento, Piru, Pyramid, Castaic...all fun.
We want to get out to some new lakes this year and AZ is on the list!

Cottonwood for sure the best for boat camping! Secluded coves, nice beaches, no camp fee and since most people are down at Kat's landing you can ski all day (or until the wind kicks up) on some pretty nice water. In fact I usually don't want to leave...damn now I'm really feeling the pull of the water! I need to SKI!!

As much as I love the Sandbars and shallow water down stream, it sounds like I should venture up to mohave and check it out. We usually go to Havasu once a year and stay at the Nautical Inn, and we go to Laughlin once or twice a year and make a run down to Havasu from there. Next time we go north I would like to meet some of the folks from the boards, if anyone is out that weekend.

Almost all of my boating is done on the lower river. I usually stay at Aha Quin, but venture down to Martinez/Hidden Shores every now and again. I also did a trip to Big River last year and really liked it up there.

The best thing about Cottonwood is no lines to launch and you can go either way up or down the river and find amazing coves. PERFECTION!
