I had jury duty today. It was the second time, but the first time that I actually made it into a court room. Unfortunately I didn’t get picked or even asked any questions. I guess I didn’t fit the “profile†that they were looking for. I still feel pretty good about doing my civic duty. I’m just really glad that I live in a country where we have such a system.

Why not? I get paid by my work for up to 2 weeks and I get to see how the whole thing works without having to be "the defendant".

If your employer pays for you to go, then it wouldnt be bad. I have always been self employed so it hurts the pocket book when I have to go.

I got selected last summer, and it was a good experience of how our justice system works. It was a fraud case. Everyone with hardships such as being self-employed single parent etc was excused from duty. I was fortunate to be compenstated by my employer
