Body Found Floating In Lake

The body of an unknown man was pulled from Lake Havasu Tuesday morning.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office and the incident report from the Lake Havasu City Police Department, the body of a white male with short brown hair, aged 25 to 30 years old wearing a white T-shirt and a red swimsuit was found floating on an inner tube by a boater just east of the Site Six landing.

As of late Wednesday, no cause or time of death had been established.

Lake Havasu City Police were notified around 6:30 a.m. of the find and the case was turned over to the county, which has jurisdiction over the lake.

Detectives from the Sheriff's Office arrived at 6:44 a.m. and began their investigation.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said she was unaware of any missing person's reports filed in the last day or two, but that detectives would be comparing the body to any reports filed.

An autopsy is pending and the case remains under investigation.

....Mohave County Sheriff Tom Sheahan says evidence at the scene leads investigators to believe that the Southern California man took his own life....

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. â€“ The mysterious man found dead on Lake Havasu now has a name.

The man was identified as 34-year old Rob Ruzika of San Diego, according to Mohave County Sheriffâ€™s spokesperson, Trish Carter. A local fisherman near Site Six found Ruzika in the early morning of April 26.
â€œInitially when we found him, he was sitting in the tube with a backpack him on, strapped to his shoulders; we located inside the backpack was three twenty-five pound weights,â€ said Carter.
Investigators believe Ruzika failed in having the weights trying to drag him down, continued Carter. Ruzika died of a self-inflicted gunshot would to the head.

There's 2 fold to this one.....

If I was gonna kill myself, I would want to do it in my haven, Havasu. That is my true place of happiness. I'm sure he had same thoughts.

But at the same time, don't let people find you floating around. Be understanding of other peoples lives......

It's also a shome that Havasu has to get the bad wrap of "another" dead person. There is enough accidents that occur there, eventually that lake is gonna be known as "lake hava-doom"

I'm guessing he probably thought the gunshot would knock him off the tube. Sportin' Wood says he thinks it was for insurance, so the body wouldn't be found and his wife could collect eventually.
