I've been looking for "stuff" of the Havasu area BEFORE Parker Dam; not much available but found this link and a few isolated pix of the Needles/Topock area. Â US 66 page Lake Havasu was all the way up to Needles after the dam was built. Â Here's a shot of the Red Rock bridge going over to Topock, circa 1947. Â I believe the Army Corp of Engineers built the dikes to channel the river in the '50's...

Cool stuff
There are alot of pics of them building the dam at Roosevelt back in the day. Including a big flood that wiped it out about a quarter of the way thru. They have the pics around the bar at Apache

what amazes me is what they built back then, and what they had to work with.....think about it, they werent even welding back then, they used rivets....and the structures still work!!!
