:beer  :good It's pretty cool out there with a houseboat! You just have to bring your party with you since the lake is so big that you rarely see anyone else.  There is one place called sandy beach that I heard is fun, but we have never been able to find it?  :stupid
When it's a good day out there the water is awesome (see below)

You can put it on Mohave also.  Katherine Landing has nice slips.  You can put it at Cottonwood also (closer to Vegas) but they anchor them out and you have to ferry to them rather than walk the dock. Kinda like Catalina.

Living in Vegas, I used to boat Mead, but now almost only Mojave.  Mead has a lot of acreage to boat on, but anytime during the summer, it's way chopped up with boat wakes, can get very windy and chopped up from that, and is quite deep (some places over 800' deep).

There is a lot more river in Mojave to find coves, and to cruise in.  I'd be doing some serious recon of both lakes before making a decision like that, since it probably costs you $10k to move it from lake to lake I'd guess, if not more.

I agree Mojave is awesome.
Think about moving it there.
