Alot of kids are going back to school starting tomorrow.  This is historically the beginning of the slowdown at the lakes, or at least in my neck of the woods. Do most of you guys stop going to the lake because of school/work schedules, or do you wait til it just gets too cold. Between now and Labor Day things will slow and then just drop off after that. My job, its still a mystery until I post pics of my work vehicle(s) or until someone figures it out, is affected greatly by this.  Not in a good or bad way, it just changes what I do and how I do it.

Anyway, I tend to boat until it cools off, then get out the motorcycle for winter until it gets too hot. What about the rest of you?

I plan on boating until it cools off... you know, sometime around Thanksgiving... :D  :good

My Niece gets out of school early on Fridays, so myself, my brother, and the munchkin can still have a pretty good weekend at the lake.

Actually, I'm off for the next three days which means I'll be out there Tuesday, then again Thursday through Saturday.

We'll boat as long as the weather cooperates... :good.  The goal this year was "once a month" minimum.  Kinda kept to that... :rolleyes  Sep-Oct are great at Havi & the lower river... :cool

Do not even start talking like that... :D

Honestly, I think August, September, & October are some of the best months to boat in... :good

My kids are on year-round.  Their school year begins the Monday after 4th of July.  They get October, February and June off.  No spring break.  I don't like it one bit.  I am crossing my fingers they change it to a semi-traditional next year. There is talk about it.

Because of this crappy schedule, I have no problem taking them out of school on Fridays here and there, and we go ahead and take a vacation for spring break. This year, during Easter week, they took a pile of school work with them and did most of it in the car.  Their grades didn't suffer any, so we are doing it again.  The school of course has a fit, but my response is, "then get this school on a normal schedule and they won't miss as much."  It's summer, dammit!

I feel our time as a family or exploring other cultures, history, and seeing America is just as valuable as anything they are doing in the classroom.  In moderation of course.

Hey Craig,

Glad to hear that you made it out...how is the boat running? Man, I have not seen you or any of your crew  :laugh on the water. I thought Donnie & Bill had given up boating all together.

Generally speaking we boat mostly between April to the end of October....or until we can't handle water temp....or if we have rented the house to the snowbirds...
But I've done my share of winter boating too.......
.
After that its off to the dunes for 4-5 months :good

Cool!!   :good   Sounds like it was a good time!!

Between the frying of the trailer brakes and a part time job thats was supposed to be one Saturday a month that has turned into 3 out of 4. I hoping to get thursday off and make a run to Saguaro in the afternoon to make sure there is no other issues.

My season last untill late november even early december...  Our last trip last year was Dec 10th and it was great!

But the limiting factor for us is the water level since we are generally on the river instead of the lake.
