Alot of kids are going back to school starting tomorrow. This is historically the beginning of the slowdown at the lakes, or at least in my neck of the woods. Do most of you guys stop going to the lake because of school/work schedules, or do you wait til it just gets too cold. Between now and Labor Day things will slow and then just drop off after that. My job, its still a mystery until I post pics of my work vehicle(s) or until someone figures it out, is affected greatly by this. Not in a good or bad way, it just changes what I do and how I do it.
Anyway, I tend to boat until it cools off, then get out the motorcycle for winter until it gets too hot. What about the rest of you?
Carbon Monoxide poisoning kills boaters. Â Take the time to learn about it and how to avoid it.

We'll boat as long as the weather cooperates... . The goal this year was "once a month" minimum. Kinda kept to that... Sep-Oct are great at Havi & the lower river...

Do not even start talking like that...
Honestly, I think August, September, & October are some of the best months to boat in...

My kids are on year-round. Their school year begins the Monday after 4th of July. They get October, February and June off. No spring break. I don't like it one bit. I am crossing my fingers they change it to a semi-traditional next year. There is talk about it.
Because of this crappy schedule, I have no problem taking them out of school on Fridays here and there, and we go ahead and take a vacation for spring break. This year, during Easter week, they took a pile of school work with them and did most of it in the car. Their grades didn't suffer any, so we are doing it again. The school of course has a fit, but my response is, "then get this school on a normal schedule and they won't miss as much." It's summer, dammit!
I feel our time as a family or exploring other cultures, history, and seeing America is just as valuable as anything they are doing in the classroom. In moderation of course.

Cool!! Sounds like it was a good time!!
Between the frying of the trailer brakes and a part time job thats was supposed to be one Saturday a month that has turned into 3 out of 4. I hoping to get thursday off and make a run to Saguaro in the afternoon to make sure there is no other issues.

I have to, agree where do they think kids are going to come up with things for the " where did you go on vacation" essay?
