About a month ago we were at Apache, slowing down for the no wake zone when we got pulled over. The first thing yelled at us was "how much have you boys been drinking today?" I told him none. Then he asked "well how much did you boys drink last night?" Take note that it is about 1PM. What the hell does last night have to do with the next day. Then they asked to see all the safety stuff, which of course I had ever thing. Then before they let us go gave one more comment about drinking saying "just you make sure that the driver is not drinking". Giving them the benefit of the doubt, cause we probable looked like some party guys -> you know no shirts, tatoos, shaved heads....and exposed engine boat, fairly loud over the transon pipes, big cam, etc. I was still pissed about them being kinda dicks about the drinking thing, but I guess if they can catch drunk drivers before they hurt somone it is a good thing. When we drink we anchor the boat and really drink, guess a lot of people don't operate that way.

Sorry I don't tow thw PC line. I feel if you have not given any indication of doing ANYTHING wrong it amounts to a form of harassment with this type of repeated questioning. Granted getting people that are drunk of the water is a good thing but I feel at times LE oversteps the line of what the "Safety Check" is all about and use it for a catch all reason to single people out. just my .02

Well, in case you couldn't tell, I've been away from my computer for a while but I just checked this thread. You guys kill me. Things have been busy at the lakes. I haven't been to Apache for a while so it wasn't me, if it was, with the description you gave flatbottom, I would have just put you in jail. Actually, I understand what you're saying, maybe the guy seemed like a dick, maybe he IS a dick, but it's not an easy job on the water. You can't spot drunks as easy on the water as you can on the road and sometimes it's just easier to ask. I will tell you, the guys out there on Lake Patrol are out there to make the lakes safer for everyone. That means getting rid of the drunks and idiots behind the wheel and making more room for all the perfect citizens on this board. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference though.
Carbon Monoxide poisoning kills boaters. Â Take the time to learn about it and how to avoid it.

Well hopefully sometime you can pull me over and arrest me, just kidding, jail is no fun. As long as you guy keep doing your job and we'll have to keep playing by the rules.
