Well at about 5pm on Friday I get a call from my son, and he was at a red light and got rearended by a 2003 full size GMC :beat

. Said he was pretty much ok but they were taken him in for xrays. So me and Becky meet over at the ER and he seems ok but in a mild state of shock :eek

Â can't blame him. After about 4 hours he gets out, we take him home, go fill his prescription, grab some food. Cked out his car it was drivable so I took it back to his place. Make Â it home around 11pm. try and relax :drink

pass out around 2am. Been dealing with the insurance folks and other crap all weekend.

I need a lake trip :banghead

I think the car is going to be totaled Â :angry

I'm pretty sure it has some frame damage :break

Â Their not going to give much for an 85 RX7.

And of course he/we have a ton of money in it. If they total it I'll have to buy it back and part it out to recover some of the coin. pic sure doesn't look like much damage but the drivers door jam got pushed about an inch forward and the rear hatch has about a inch gap. lots of structural damage under the car.

He's actually doing good, he plans on going back to work tomorrow and he went to a concert last night. Bt the Vicadin may be giving him his super powers :drink

Yeah the car seemed to take the hit pretty good. The guy must have hit the brakes right at impact cause it bent all the stuff up under the back bumber real good. And it was a full size truck and Shauns bumper is about 1 foot off the ground if that. I have been around Mazda's forever in the parts biz and what sucks is all the bad damage is hidden in the unibody.

The games begin today I'm sure. The adjusters should be in touch today. Got to get the kido into his Doc for a follow up on the ER visit.

Hey KC, sorry to hear of the accident. I hope it all works out for the best and that your son recouperates quickly.

To have to go through that AND deal with insurance companies is a double whammy.

Well we went thru the drive thru appraisal thing today and we all seem to think the cars totaled. Being around Shaun for a few hours made my back and neck hurt

He's a tough kid but he's a mess. He goes to the Doc tomorrow and will see what he says.

I really didn't want to go the lawyer route on this just because of the hassle but its looking like some ambulance chaser may be getting a phone call :phone

I get a little angry :angry

when I start thinking about all he was doing was sitting a red light when Einstien slammed him. All the crap we have all ready had to put up with and it hasn't even been a week and the pain he's in I think he should get something out of this. :drama

Insurance and accidents never are fun for anyone involved...Sure hope he gets taken care of properly.
I listened to a sad story the other week where the guy ended up having to sue his own girfriend because her Insur. was trying not to pay for his broken back when she rolled the car they were in.....
