Just curious..... Lots of stories and opinions....
Slow idle in an area with ambient light that I know well, maybe. Wide open, dark night on the river/lake, no F'n way...
Some areas of the country are passing speed limits to help curb the carnage...

I never have. Will I ever? Don't know. If I do it will be a full moon and REAL good spot light.

Thirty plus years ago, rode with crazy neighbor from Cotonwood Cove to Katherine's landing at midnight in under 20 minutes. (It's a 22 mile trip.) Learned all about navigation lights and buoys in a big hurry.
The law in some states limit night (after dusk) speed to 8 mph. This seems a bit slow. With a good spot light and a little help from the moon, 20 - 25 mph is certainly not too fast.
Common sense, good judgement & sobriety are all very important and can make night cruising very safe & enjoyable.

Exactly. Â Us too. I love boat floats at night. Â I don't like cruising too much, it's a little scary, but I like it when we get where we're going. Â Fourth of July above Davis Dam is really really cool. Â

My question to him was, How do you GPS another watercraft. He didn't have an answer other than to say, You just watch for the lights on the other boats. Â Â Â Â . |
Oh yea, a GPS will keep somebody from runnin' ya over....
