been frying them for about 6 years now, but we do two birds and a ham, the last year we fed 35 people out of a single wide in parker.  :good the bird in oil seems to be the favorite, and I try a new season or flavor every year.

plus 350' boiling oil is always a good time :good  :good  :rotflmao  :beer  :beer

I'm 40 years old and have never cooked a turkey yet. :eek  That's because I've worked almost every Thanksgiving for the last 21 years. :eek  Normally it's oven cooked turkey leftovers after I get home from work at my parents, girlfriend's family (when I have one :rotflmao ), inlaw's (when I have them  :rotflmao ) or at a friend's.  I'd be interested to try deep fried turkey one of these years though. :good

This year I am eating leftovers at my parents. :D

On the BBQ, what do you put in the rub????  Do you put the bird in a brine first???

use rub that i make up myself, usually dont brine it, the rub has seasoned salt, garlic powder, oregno(greek,it is milder),paprika, onion powder, basil, rosemary, etc.rub the bird down good, bunch of it in the cavity, indirect heat,i cook on charcoal, add charcoal every hour, more rub on the bird, usually done in about 2-2.5 hrs, occasionally quicker.when the juices run clear in the cavity it is done.

This is my 1st Thanksgiving as a married couple. My dad will be BBQing the bird and I am doing most everything else. I'm excited because both of our families are coming out for Turkey Day. Then we are all off to Parker. Can't wait for the boat parade. This will be my 2nd year seeing it.
PS. If anyone has any good... fast... easy recipes for Turkey day please let me know.
Thanks... :)

Im not a real big fan of turkey.  So we usually cook some prime rib with some friends.  Don't really have any family here since we're from Hawaii.  So eat alot and sleep alot.

HD...It's to bad you have to work on gobble day.  Where do work?

I wouldnt mind trying some deep fried turkey...It sounds pretty tasty.  :good
