So reading a little tid bit about a guest ranch that was bought southeast of Tucson and when the new owners took over, it was infested with cats. Seems the old owners did not control them and just let nature take its course.

Factoid caught my eye: 1 female pregnant cat and her offspring if left to breed for 7 years can produce 420,000 cats :eek

Thats a lot of Pussys  :laugh

So do your duty and get them fixed.

I'm sure mathmatically that's possible, but if that stat was even remotely true, we'd have wild pussy everywhere.  :D

You have to take into consideration that most feral felines don't live to breading age, and those that do only live a couple years.  Having been around barn cats for most of my formative years, you learn not to get to attatched to the kitties.

But, KC is right, get those kitties fixed...  :good

The people at the ranch say the cats that are there are pretty social and tame. They have gotten rid of around 70 and have around 30 left. But they are thinking all the feral cats are out in the land around the ranch playing hide and seek with the coyotes ;)

I know I'm gonna jinx myself saying this, but we've had our 3 barn cats for 4 years.  I feed them at night, and I think that helps (less likely to go a-hunting on a full belly) So they hunt during the day.  

However, mine are ALL fixed.
