OK gang...I need as many opinions as I can get with this topic.  I am trying to choose between the 377 and the 383 and need some additional opinions.  Zig, I know you're running a 377 in your 23 footer...what kind of hull is it?  All opinions are welcomed and needed.  Thanks in advance.  I am going to purchase it next winter and doing extensive homework in the meantime.

its a V if thats what you mean? Commanders 23LX to be more precise.....John west can tell you if the bottom is close to what you're considering.
Is the 383 Carbed or FI? I saw the other thread but didn't read all of Spectra's comments.
377 of mine is the Ultralow-emmission EFI, port injected. I'm doing my part to keep our air/water clean.....

So true...I've pretty much made up my mind on the 383.

They are, but I prefer to stay with the small block.  The 383 pound for pound should push the I/O as fast or faster than the 454 (so I've been told)

Nope pretty much the truth, probably within 5 mph of each other. The big blocks are just a better platform to build a better parts breaker later :break

Exactly why I think these stroked small blocks are a very viable option for us turn key boats........
The extra 5 or 6 mph vs. the amount of fuel needed to reach that speed ain't worth it to me at all. If I was still 20 something and on the prowl then you need the Bling to attract the goddess shaped gold digger babes onto your boat.

I agree if you have a light load, but 5 people, ice chests, and a days worth of gear, it may be more than 5 MPH.

Yep, you need that extra torque to move those extra beer bellys. :beer So if you think it out, a boat load of hotties and drink everyone elses beer and you can get away with the 383 :D
