I've had my 68 el camino for 17 years! Bought it in 1987 right then I graduated high school. It's the only car I have every owned. I can't go anywhere in it without someone asking me about it and telling me how beautiful it is. I plan on very selling it. So what kinda work do you do for the plumbing? :good

Check it out, I can give you a better price than Summit!. :good  :drink

Ok I'll keep my comments to myself. You win! But it's just a personal opinion I guess. We'll the 350hp I have in the elco right now does 12.8 in the quarter. Just want to go a little bit faster by having 150 more hp. Really don't have a issue with burning the rear tires really bad right now. Thank god I have that eaton posi in the rear! I've got all the new parts ready to go. Just haven't had much time to put it all together. Got a great deal on everything! Hope to get into the mid 11's with this motor!  :bebe

All you need is a kit for the rear end and you put that sucka in the 10's :good  :jumpie

Wendy, I'm not much into cars (being a truck owner and all), but yours handled real well.  I LOVE your sterio system, I still can't believe that was stock.  - BTW, I need to get a copy of that CD we were listening to, Randy did a good job mixing up the fun to dance to songs.   :jumpie

PS.  It was fun hanging out with you two this weekend.  Your a sweetie.  ;)

Yes it did Doug...and the guy who was preaching " I only buy American " fessed up that he also owned a couple of kawasaki lake lice.

I love american muscle cars, but for my first new car purchase I couldnt be happier, and if I can get hooked up with some free mods...heck yeah Im gonna take em.

Not too many american cars can get me from HB to Vegas on $20.00 unless I went with a Ford Festiva and I doubt I can fit my long ass legs into one of them.

My next new car will be a lifted chevy :beer

Well the 350hp I have in the elco right now does 12.8 in the quarter.

You know what's funny, my brother had a Honda Civic that ran a 12 flat in the 1/4 mile. And no, he didn't spend 5k for 50hp, especially when you can spend $500 for a 150hp. I even took he car to Pomona, cutting a .502 RT and out ran another kid in a mustang. It was a High School drag racing event, and they only let you run 1/8 mile then. But we did run Terminal Island in Long Beach Friday Nights! Oh that was fun!

If you have never lost to an import, then you haven't raced anyone fast. Trust me, I like the muscle cars too, but those ricers are fast.

I have races alot of fast imports. Just last month I beat a twin-turbo WRX modified. It was my buddies car and will all the mods he was making well over 330HP and had spent $1000 and $1000 on it making it fast Still beat him in the El Camino WOHO!!! So believe me I have fasted alot of fast imports and that is what I have my el camino set up right now to do. Is to smoke em! And next year with more HP I'll just leave em in the dust!!!

i might be wrong here but i cannot stand those little sawed off imports! i live here in garden grove where they seemed for a while to be everywhere. they all seem to have the same three major mods done to them- big expensive tach mounted on the dash(making the car lean to one side) ,whoopie cushion exhaust system. and maybe a big wanna be sport stripe off to oneside(was it the lean that caused it?). for their owners more power to them (literaly) as long as their hearts are into it thats cool. but the next time one of those little clown car driven jack asses cuts me off in the process of "rallying for position" down beach blvd in rush hour traffic we will be trading some paint. it's always the same the guy will pass me three or four times in two miles while i stay in "my"lane and watch the show of him hammering on his little motor. My thinking? if you think you got a race car take it to the drags.if your in douybt-real drag cars cannot under any circumstances be run WOT in rush hour traffic on a surface street(or anywhere else)... holly shit i have issues here i was getting to the car my close bud built. 67 chevelle street legal 850hp lt blue liscense plate says "kwikss"  98.something in the 1/8 mile.  no blower. no nos.    much better than an import-sorry i got into venting there.

...and awaaay they go...

I put Eibach springs on the Cutlass.  No more land yacht, just a nice firm, smooth ride.  Lowered the car about 1.5" in front, and about an 1" in back.

I feel bad though, my paint isn't very shiny.  :D

I have a '68 cutlass, the paint is in about the same or worse condition right now. I painted it about 10 years ago. some things just don't last!! :D  What year is your Cutlass??

Windy:

I think your car is awesome.

The only thing I can think of that would be better is you sitting on the hood in one of my bikinis. If I send you one will you have HBjet take some pictures and post them here for us?

I wish I had been able to get together with all of you guys over Memorial weekend. I had 20 bikinis to give away. I should be doing the same for Labor Day weekend.

I did send Mrs Scuba one that she wore at OP6C last week. I don't know if you got a chance to see it on her. She was real happy with it.

Maybe we can all get together over Labor Day. Who is going to be at Havasu for Labor Day? I know the Scuba's will not be there because they have other commitments.

That one in the pic looks like a '70. Mine has a Pontiac 400/turbo 400. At our altitiude and  a 2:73 open rear end, the car ran a 14:08@98.5mph. I didn't think that was too bad for a stocker!!
