OK, so the garage door on the new house is tweaked... actually the spring broke when we were doing the walk through. "OK, that's going to be fixed before we close, put it on the list".
So the seller says, "We're not going to fix it, but we'll leave some $$$ in escrow to cover the repairs."
OK, not the optimum situation, but I'll take it.
"Don't do that", says the RE agent, "the home waranty policy will cover any door repairs"
So, I get the policy papers out and sure enough, door, opener, and spring are all included. I'm still not sold on the idea, but the RE agent assures that it will be covered.
You can just see where this is going.
Brother Sleek calls the agent to get the insurance contact number, and it turns out that we're stuck with some half assed BS policy the seller had pulled out couple months ago... they don't cover anything on the door except the opener.
Me thinks the RE agent is going to have to spend a little of her commision on a garage door repair.
I hate house buying. They're going to have to burn me out of this one.
