There is camping near the northend of the lake, I'm not too sure if there is on the south end anymore. The south end of the lake is the main body of the lake. It's probably a bout 3 miles long and a couple of miles wide. The north end of the lake is alot like the river, long and not too wide, but wide enough to wake board and ski. There are quite a few small coves to float in, and a few larger ones. We used to go up there alot in the early '80's, but we have only been up there a few times recently.

Yes, but you need to be carfull as it is down hill the last couple miles and there is a stop sign just as you get to the parking area. Just need to watch the braking so you don't smoke the brakes.

2nd gear Can you get away with running a generator some a night for the AC?

| Quote (Fragile Magic @ April 11 2006,11:00 pm) | We camp there a lot. Its one of the last lakes in AZ that you can shore camp. There are a lot of good campsites uplake a couple of miles, wouldn't run the generator past 10pm unless you wanna get that ol' bananna in the tail pipe treatment!
I second the watch the last couple of miles advice. There is a mandatory pull off where you must pay to go further. Its in just about the worst possible spot for such a thing, and you can tell by all the skid marks and chrome and plastic strewn about. When you can see the lake, slow down and be prepared for a sudden right turn into a small parking lot staffed by credit card machines. The boat ramp is great, and usually moves pretty fast. We love the lake, the marina, and the deputies are a lot nicer than that wiseass out on Saguaro Â
PM me for more local info and if you wanna meet up sometime. Just give me a reason to go again!! Â Â |
Thanks for the info. We were thinking about checking it out this summer

Hmmm. Looks like I'm gonna have to spend a couple of weekends at Bartlett and kick your ass into shape.
Bartlett is a fun lake to camp out on, and good boating. I liked it better years ago before all the improvements and restrictions though.
Carbon Monoxide poisoning kills boaters. Â Take the time to learn about it and how to avoid it.

Hey Freddog, was that you with the binoculars lookin' at boat tags last Friday at Sagauro??
We just put the new tag on that morning!!
I agree, Bartlett was a lot better before the road was paved the whole way, and we liked Lake Pleasant better before the new dam, cause you could shore camp almost everywhere on the west side of the lake......
We still have that "cold one" waiting for ya anytime you're ready!
Anytime you need to get off Saguaro and come up to Bartlett for some R&R.....Well, we will make sure we bring your coldie along just in case!!

the road to Apache sucks but that lack of pavement is prob the only thing saving that place from being a total cluster fk
