Couple weeks ago I went accross the street to the 7-11 to get gas for the lawn mower.  I went inside and told the clerk I needed just a dollors worth.  She looked at me as I gave her the dollor and said "only a dollors worth". Yep I said, she says you sure cause thats less than a half gallon and you'll be lucky to get out of the driveway. I just told her she would be suprised how far I could get with that much gas. shakng her head she reluctantly set the pump up.  :laugh

in real life, regular gas on Hawaii I found was on average $3.17, found a place I bought from for $3.12 and after driving off the beaten track I found some at $3.03.....

expect to see gas go up higher than ever beore.  iran has announced that it has started uranium enrichment and i expect that the UN will impose economic sanctions (Translation, NO OIL out of Iran) in about 3 weeks.  They will try economic sanctions before military :rolleyes

In a nutshell, with the crap that's going on in Venezuela and Iran, gas will be in the $3.50-$4.00 range by summer.  :angry   Time to go out and buy one of those big 500 gallon tanks and stock up.......

I had an old 125 gallon semi-truck tank converted to gas use when in CA, but couldn't fit it when we moved so I cut it up and took the scrap aluminim to the recycleing yard.....

Wish I still had that tank now :banghead  :banghead  :banghead

Every week we run over to Couer D'Alene, IID and fill up all of the 5 gal gas cans and we save about $25 per week by not buying gas in WA.  Maybe I should buy more 5 gal cans and fillem up....

Premium is up to $3.15.....at the Arco... :eek

The thing that makes me laugh is that the Oil Companies say that there not making that much money, saw a thing on the news last night that reported that the CEO of Mobil/Exxon was making $190,000 a day, yeap a day, sure glad that there not making too much money or he'd probably off himself... :flamed

I just got an e-mail that is going around from a large group of people who are trying to bring prices down by boycotting specific companys one at a time, until they bring their prices down. They are attempting to start a major boycott of Exxon/Mobil at present. I have heard reasons why boycotts like this wont work, but I'm going to do it anyways. Besides, in my area, Exxon and Mobil stations are pretty pricey, so I wouldn't use them anyways.

That has been going around for years, don't boycott for a day, pick one company and do it for months? :stupid

you could never get that many people to agree on one thing long enough to make a dent.

It's that way now don't you pick the station that has cheap gas our are you brand loyal?

around here Arco for gas, and I have a fleet place for diesel .05 a Gal. cheaper.

Yep you are correct this has gone around before and I do tend to buy the cheapest I can find. But gas is higer now and more people do seem to be looking for something to do about it. Exxon/Mobil does seem to be the villain of the day. So it might have a chance of getting enough public support to gain some traction. Who really knows? Let's ask Grey Davis about how those recall movements never get anyone out of office.
This group is attempting to boycott them even if they are the least expensive in your area. Like I said, I've heard all the reasons it wont work and I've heard the theory behind why it might. I'm going to do it. I think it would be great to see all those stations sitting empty for a while. After all, if they didn't need our business why would they spend zillions on advertising. If nothing else, it might be an interesting expieriment.
