Just wondering how many folks pack a firearm.  Daily? In your vehicle? In your Boat? Legally? Illeaglly?

I know it's dang near impossible to carry LEGALLY in CA.....

One of the many reasons we moved to WA is because the CA firearms suck.  Here in WA, everyone that can legally buy a firearm is ENTITLED to a concealed weapons permit after applying as long as you have been a resident of the State for 90 days.
I was at the police station on day 90 :D  :D  :good  :guns

And, as for my carrying, I carry at LEAST 1 (Normally 2) handguns 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Mrs BBT also has a CCW and she carries also, although I never know when she is and when she isn't.

Problem is, every time we drive across the state line to Idaho (20 miles away) we have to unload, since the permit is not reciprocal with Idaho (Although it is with 9 other staes).  Kind of a pain in the a$$ but still worth it when ya consider all of the gangbangers and carjackers and criminals out there.  Maybe someday I'll take the time and go over to ID and get a CCW there to...

When we lived in CA, I did carry occasionally....Illegally of course since I applied for a CCW and they denied it because they said my life wasn't in danger so I didn't need one :rolleyes  :rolleyes

Guess nobody's life is in danger until it's too late huh?  F'ing Libs in CA are crazy!!!  But I tell you this, ALL of the anti-gun politicians in CA HAVE permits, including Feinstein, Boxer, and the State legislators

I have had to use a firearm once to defend myself about 20 years ago.  It was a shotgun and in my own house when some dude that was high on drugs busted down my front door when I was in bed asleep.  He was armed with a Winchester Model 94 30-30.  Yep, shotgun won that one :guns

Ever since then, I've realized that the Police are REACTIVE and not proactive, since the police were called about 10 minutes beore and warned (By someone that knew him) that this dude was coming over to my house and was armed.  Cops showed up AFTER the shooting was over.  And the SOB's confiscated MY shotgun :angry
Ain't got anything against the Law, in fact, I'm a firm supporter of them.  But I know that they can't be everywhere so I gotta do what I gotta do.

You never know if/when anything will hapen, and I hope I never have to use a firearm against anyone ever again, but if the need arises.....I want to make sure that I'm prepared to save the life of myself and family :guns  :guns  :guns

Do to a rather strange set of circumstances I got caught carrying here in L.A. Do to the facts that I had a perfectly clean record, it was only a North Americian Arms mini revolver, and the police believed it to be an innocent mistake, no charges were brought against me by the City Attny's (Degeldillo's) office. I even got my gun and bullets back.
However, it was a horrible and stressfull ordeal that lasted about a year. I'll never do it again, unless there is some specific threat to me or my family.
I have 2 quick access lockboxes in my home and each has a loaded Sig Saur in it. I also usually take the higher capacity one with me in my motor home when we go on trips.
P.S. When I was a kid my dad used a Ruger Blackhawk to chase a burgler out of our house. It worked really well. He didn't have to fire it to make the creep beat feat. He just cocked it and steped out of the hallway and the guy couldn't have split any faster if he was on a launch pad.

Just curious... At the river do you have one of those phanny-pack dellios that has a pocket or just stick it in the glove or something to that effect???

P.S. What do you carry... Sub compact, compact, full size... Glock, Sig, Colt, S&W...  Come-on man... We need answers  :D Ohh and Caliber!

My answer was somewhat "tongue in cheek".  When I say on the boat, I'm on the job so it's my duty weapon, either an H&K USP40 (or .357Sig) or Sig 2340 (either .40 or .357Sig).  I do some extradition trips in the slow season and we fly them on commercial airlines.  We keep a pretty low profile to keep people from worrying so I carry in a fanny pack.  And fortunately, due to federal legislation passed last year, I can carry concealed in all 50 states.

To tell you the truth, when I'm not at work, I rarely carry a weapon.  There's some legal and policy technicalities that I'd rather not deal with.
