Depends on what you're looking for in a hotel/casino and what kind of boat you have. For your first time on that stretch, it's not bad. I prefer it upriver, but I'm biased  :D Bummer you picked the only weekend we won't be there, but cruise around upriver (away from the lake lice) and I think you'll enjoy it. WATCH OUT FOR SANDBARS! If you don't know the area, go slow and read the water.

What Roost said. :good
I like the Avi. They have a nice Lagoon and their own launch ramp with gas right there as well. It's a nice putt up to Laughlin from the Avi.

I love the Avi.  We have always had good service, the food is good and it's the only Indian casino I've actually won at.  Don Laughlin owns a stake in it, so it's run pretty well.  If you go, you've got to get the Avi Potatos in the buffet.  We stop there just for those on the way home from the trailer sometimes.  The water is pretty shallow there right now, but better than it was 2 weeks ago.  There is water in the lagoon and the buoys are almost upright at 10 in the morning.  They also have a movie theater there and the grocery store is right across the bridge.

:D I wish! No it was nasty water, the hotel was all out of bottled water in all of their vending machines and they were handing out bottles at the front desk. The only problem was that you could only get one mini water bottle per room.... I was very thirsty after that trip.

Those  :ass holes put us in the original wing, even though we requested the beach tower, but when I've stayed in the beach tower the water was pretty gross there too, it smelled like pine sol... Very strange  :stupid  So I would definately recommend bringing your own bottled water up to the room!
But don't get me wrong, I love the AVI and would stay there on my next trip if there were rooms available. You just can't beat the convenience.  We keep the boat in storage in Needles, so we just drive to Needles every morning and get the boat and launch in Needles, then at the end of the day we put it back in storage and drive back to the Avi, and do the same thing the next day.  That way we don't have to worry about leaving it out all night.

I always got so tense driving the boat between the Avi and Laughlin, mostly by BigBend where the pipe crosses over. I don't think I'd try it with my prop boat now.
I was quite impressed by Avi's buffet spread.....
.
I'll be down in havi that weekend Shue  :good

The water flow is pretty goot durning the day... I think that strech might be safer for a prop... But then again... There are lots of little mounds that are hidding  :beat

If you do chose the AVI, you can get a promotional code in the White Sheet and save a few bucks.

Maybe someone here has a recent copy, can find it and post it here for ya.

Wow, that's quite a jump. I was there last aug for CBBB and it was $69 for fri, $79 for sat, and $39 for sun. I know being with CBBB got us a discounted rate, But I didn't think it was a big one.
