He was in his eighties and on a waiting list for some surgery but the delay ended up costing his life......

Thanks guys and girls......
we were much closer when I was younger and living near him but he's as close as a relative came for me being I never knew any of my grandparents....and all other relatives were in Germany.
He was a fiesty and smart guy that was motivated by political arguements......Worked for various companies that dealt with the space programs, Apollo being one. He had a hand in designing robotic arms that were used in the Apollo program. I remember him pointing out something on TV in my youth when they landed on the moon.
He had WWII stories too.
He was a true Berliner.... "Ich bin ein Berliner".
His only son(and his family) is in the Dallas area so I'm guessing my Godmother will likely migrate there soon now too.....
