All right, if it isn't totally obvious by now, I'm an inbasule.  :beat Anyways, I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures. When I click on the [img] button, I get a window requesting a url. Do you have to host your photos on a website to be able to post them here? The other option is the "browse" link. When I open that up, it allows me to go into my computer and pick a photo, but it doesn't show up when I preview (even after resizing it)

What the hell am I doing wrong?

The easiet way is to have your photos hosted on a site such as hotboatpics.com or on the Hot Boat image center, then you would click on and add your URL, and hit okay, you can also post pics that are on your PC, to do this look down below when you are creating or responding to a thread, there is a button that says "Browse", click it and select the picture that you want to post, when you hit the "Add Reply" button your image will be attached to your post. Hope that I have helped, once you get the hang of it it's pretty gosh darn easy. BTW, most of the other boards that you visit will probably be set up the same way. Happy pic posting... :D :D

Hotboat Image center doesn't allow "hot linking" anymore... so the pictures won't show up here.  Use Hot Boat Pics if you want to do that.  

Doug also limits the file size of the attatchments, so if your picture is to big "byte" wise, it's a no go.  I've had really good luck with resizing pictures with my image program, then opening them up in MS paint (don't laugh), and finally saving them as .jpg files.  For some reason MS Paint jpegs are a smaller file size then the jpegs from my graphics program.

What was happening was that when I was previewing it, the pic doesn't show, but when posting it is there.

I use the image button or tag structure.....

Store your pics somewhere on the 'net, like Hotboat, get the view you want, right-click on that image, DRAG to hi-light the PROPERTIES and COPY to your clipboard, then PASTE that address into the text box that opens using the image button....

Like this.....from Hotboat.... :D


Some web image storage areas, like Webshots, won't link....
