KATHERINE LANDING, AZ - A multi-agency enforcement effort on Lake Mohave this weekend will focus on checking for individuals operating under the influence.
Arizona Game and Fish, the Nevada Department of Wildlife and the National Park Service will be enforcing Arizona’s OUI legal limit of a .08 blood-alcohol content for boaters on Lake Mohave. All boaters passing through the checkpoint will be subject to safety inspections, both Saturday and Sunday. Boaters will be checked for alcohol impairment and all boats that are stopped will be checked for required safety equipment, such as proper life jackets and working fire extinguishers.

Sounds about right. They never do this on a holiday weekend because it's just too busy and they don't have the manpower. Almost always the weekend before. Two weekends is a little out of the ordinary, but not surprising.
