OK...so I haven't decided if I want to give cash or buy a gift for the newlyweds..........and the wedding is Saturday.

Since I was given away at birth I have no recollection of wedding presents and have no clue what's "In" these days.

What would / did you appreciate most?

A gift? Or green?......and if cash, how much is realistic these days? Another friend going to the same wedding is slapping a Benjamin in a card and calling it a deal. I'd feel like a cheapskate if I did that. Am I wrong? :stupid

What would you rather carry away from your wedding? I'd go with cash.
Or you could just get a fancy card and stick it on the biggest box at the gift table. :rolleyes  ;)

This may sound funny, but the gifts I remember the most ......

Towels. We got tons of towel sets. So many infact we put half away to save for when we wore out what we had. I think Angie had to buy towels for the first time 2 years ago.

We did not have any money or funiture but we had a mean towel collection. :rotflmao

Save the cash for the dance...

I'm sure they're signed up for a registry somewhere, that makes it easy.

The best present I got was a big ol' pot with a strainer for boiling pasta, too bad the ex kept it (and it was from one of my friends  :cry  )

I kinda look at the situation the new couple are in. Have they been living together a while and have gathered much of the nec household items or are they fresh as a daisy newlycoupled and need everything???
New couples get gifts off their registry to help fill the house, established couples more likely will get cash.......

For me, it depends on how close you are to the bride/groom; you usually get an idea on what would fit their needs.....if your more distant, cash & card works.

Bottle of Mumm's for the honeymoon suite maybe...??

I wouldn't give a rats a$$ if I got big or small bills as long as the grand total counted out to be a nice size...LOL

it all deposits the same in the bank and they are going to count it anyhow...so the way it comes won't make a difference if they can count. LOL

Brilliant! You are ALL Brilliant!

Reading all these posts gave me an idea...a good one I hope.
I agree with everything, so how about a bit of everything?

Shue the champagne idea is very classy, I'll try to work that in somewhere.

Cash seems to be the concensus, but the sentimental vote for gifts to remember is cool....then all the talk about bills, big, small, adding up....

How about this:

I get a really nice photo album...a nice rare Naugahyde maybe..(I'm licensed to hunt Nauga on Catalina, BTW)
...I'll put a few pictures of them in it.

That's the gift part.

Then when they turn the pages, instead of more pictures - it'll be filled with bills - cash-ola!

What do you think?? :stupid
