| Quote (Carrera Elite @ May 22 2006,1:40 pm) | Is the $500 for the part and installation?? Â |
The fuel pump is $380 - 450 Â I even checked locally and on-line...that's what it costs, so they aren't inflating that.
They quoted $971.93 for the whole job. My local mechanic says the job isn't that hard, that the pump is easily accessed. He can do it in under an hour, but would charge me for one hour - $550.00 for the whole job. I didn't ask if he was replacing the filter for that price though
The guy in Needles says the book gives him almost as much time for the filter R/R as for the pump.
I was able to get him to come down to $800 which includes pump, filter and their charge for 1 hour for diagnostics. That is probably more in line with what a Land Rover dealer would charge......damn those Brits! Â (It's a pre-Ford Rover) I want to sell it and buy a Yukon.
