Which leads me to believe that most of you don't do Jack-Squat at work other than post here.  What a bunch of slackers!  I'm jealous.

We have websense at work, blox HD.

Used to be able to beat it by Logging onto Boatcop,, then onto the Sharkey Marine link,, then link again to HD.

But,, I mentioned the trick once on HB, HD traffic exploded.

A websense employee on HB read it, and now the bug is fixed, and the websense dude bragg'd about it on the same thread I mentioned it. No honor among F*c#-offs.

No daisy chaining-linking in.

I got on at one school site by an email notifying of a PM, when I clicked on the link from the email, it opened the board up.

Funny thing is, most schools block HB but allow HD and RRL.  I find that funny.

I used to administer websense at a company.  Pretty good stuff and hard to get around but it is very specific on what it will block.  It blocks main sites explicitly but you can get around it sometimes by going directly to a specific page.  Like what you two just described.  www.havasudoug.com is blocked but before they caught on, you could go to Dougs forums at https://www.havasudoug.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.cgi and be ok. Apparently they have caught on and added it to thier list.  They could have also changed the rules since I used it and I could be totally wrong now.

Try sending yourself an email with a link to a subforum and try it next time in the office.  This one will take you directly to the Open Topic Forums

I think they'll get pissed if I park the boat in front of Starbucks.   ;)  I've checked all over the lake, but no service/hotspots.  I bought one of those Aircards from Verizon the other day and found out my new laptop has the Expresscard slot, which Verizon doesn't plan to support until September or October.  Til then, I'm a postwhore slacker.  After that...watch out!! :comp  :comp  :comp  :comp  :comp

I have a data USB data cable that connects my Sprint phone and laptop.  Using the $15 per month Sprint Vision Package add on, I can connect anywhere I have a digital signal WITHOUT using my minutes.  It's faster than dial up too.  :good $15 a month for UNLIMITED mobile internet access is not a bad deal. :)

I get HDF at school, but not a work USUALLY.  There were a couple of times that websense was disabled, but that is EXTREMELY rare.
