Stay away from sugary, fruity drinks or shots :drink

Beer before liquor never sicker :puke
Liquor before beer never fear :beer

Couple shots of a good Tequila and back it up with a beer. You'll be good to go  :drink

Secret is pace yourself and try to eat(not overeat) first. If you overkill anything your going to be hungover.

As for me I just sip water ;)

Mixed drinks and any of the schnapps... all that sugar...  :puke  :puke  :puke

Best way to avoid a hangover (other than don't drink)... drink good booze and stick with one "flavor".  :good

If you drink mixed drinks ask for the TOP shelf booze.  The better the booze the less hangover.  I know it took me 30 years to figure that one out.  :drink  :drink  :drink

Hangovers are a product of vasoconstriction caused by dehydration.  Alcohol is a diuretic and as it's metabolized, each molecule of ethanol (the form of alcohol produced by fermentation and distillation) produces two molecules of NADH (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide + hydrogen) which utilizes Vitamin B12 as a coenzyme.  The combination of dehydration (causing the brain to actually shrink away from the skull) and Vitamin B12 deficiency causes the "hangover" symptoms.

So, for every drink you consume, follow it with an 8 ounce glass of water or sports drink, and take some B12 with a couple of glasses of water or sports drink before bed.  Also, food consumption only slows the absorption of alcohol, it does not block it.

So ends the professors lesson for the day.

White wine doesn't give me a hangover, but it makes me very thirsty in the middle of the night.  The better quality liquor you can get, the more it is filtered and the less of a hangover you will get.  Try to stick with one thing all night,  as stated above.  The extra $15 spent on the top shelf bottle of vodka, tequila or whatever will be well worth it the next morning.

Personally, I can drink Guinness and Crown Royal and neither give me a hang over.  Since I tend to be quite until I loosen up, I'll start the night with a Double Crown on the Rocks and switch to the Guinness for the remainder of the night.

Here is a sure fire Anti Hang Over method.  I have tried it and it works great.

300 MG (2 pills) of Zantac before you go drinking
Enjoy your night
2 asprine / Tylenol etc and a big glass of water before bed.

I usually play pretty hard so I will take another Zantac when I get home and eat 3-4 Alieve instead of Asprin.  It just works better for me.

I haven't had a hang over once when I did that.  Then there are the times I forgot to prepare...   :rolleyes

A good "top shelf" vodka and any low- sugar mixer will keep the bends away the next day.  Also, headache medicine and lots of water before you go to bed helps too.

I thought Tylenol was a bad thing to mix with alcohol?
