My buddies (SPD Products) designed and built the the Trophy Truck that won overall (Ragland/Collins). Their other Trucks finished 4th and 10th in the Trophy Truck division (5th and 15th overall). I watched Dave (of SPD) designing the trucks a couple of years ago while we were all at Parker over Spring Break. It's amazing to watch the trucks go from the computer and view them being assembled to seeing them scream by on the course.
The SPD guys are amazing fabricators. Actually, for those who have seen it, they built my cooler cart:

I'll be designing their website soon and will let everyone know when it's done.

That's a 1 off deal. I have around $500 in materials alone (plus the cooler). That's not counting the 5 hours it took to actually build it. It's not very cost effective, but it was designed by me, and built to my specs. It'll go though most doorways and fits under the toneau cover on the truck (barely). I sourced all the hubs, wheels and tires online. Then started designing from there. There were a couple on the fly changes, but all in all it turned out as I planned. The finish is a brushed aluminum with a transparent powdercoat over the top.

Heres the trip report condensed. http://rockbuggysupply.com/rbbs/index.php?topic=36.0
Had an absolute blast. The highlights where many but right up there is sitting in the hotel bar and talking racing with the guys from Pflueger,Collins, Herbst, Ragland, and of course watching Mark Post put the moves on the ladies. That man is a pimp! Good times for sure. Can't wait till the 1000.
I hear this puts us in 3rd place for the season with 3 races left and tons of momentum. |
Does Larry Ragland still have his g/f with the big tata's???
If it's the same Ragland, runs out of Arizona??
A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.

Larry Ragland is a cool guy. If I remember right, he made a bundle manufacturing and selling waterbeds in their hayday.
Sounds like the race was a blast once again.
Carbon Monoxide poisoning kills boaters. Â Take the time to learn about it and how to avoid it.
