I rarely cross post but this one is a little personal.

Those of you who know me have probably met Charlaine.   She is going to race walk with the Team in Training group in the Nike Women's Marathon held in San Francisco for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  They are crazy fast when walking and most can cover a mile in 12-14 minutes. That's faster than a lot of runners.

She needs our help to get there by raising $3,500.  75% of that goes directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The rest is to cover training and travel.   Its not that much money if we come together to help.  Please help her reach her goal by visiting her Pledge page and making a donation. http://www.active.com/donate/tntsdh/tntsdhCCaley

The donations are tax deductible and Corporate sponsors will get their company logo on the Team in Training race jerseys and banners all along the race route.

Charlaine is also keeping a diary here so we can keep track of her progress.   http://ccaley.pledgepage.org/

Its not to late, the marathon is in October.  She still has 3 months to go.

The training is a long process. They started out at 4 miles on Saturdays and are up to 11.  They also walk shorter distances every Tuesday and Thursday to stay ready and work on form.

She did it!!! Charlaine walked the 26.2 miles in 6 hrs and 40 minutes.  She was just over her goal of 15 minute miles.  I am so proud of her.  Charlaine is still in San Francisco and will be home Monday.  I wasn't able to go with her.  :(   Thank you to everyone who offered support and or made a donation.  Without you she wouldn't have been able to make it.

Thank you!
