A post by CE made me think of it........... . My friends and I used to make tennis ball cannons. 4 tin cans, 3 open on both ends, bottom one just a small hole in the side. Taped together with duct tape. Squirt of lighter fluid in the top and into bottom can........Insert tennis ball and place lit match by hole in bottom can................. Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawoooooooooooooop.... There were times we lost sight of the ball it went so high. Then we got crazy idea and soaked the ball before shooting it. Almost burned down the neighbors house.....twice...LOL . So what crazy things did you do as a youngster that today we scold our kids for even attempting?

I guess all guys were pyros.
We used to make "hot air balloons" with dry cleaning bags and birthday candles at the bottom. Sometimes they engulfed in flames when the candles reached the thin wood frame and they fell uncontrolled. I know of at least 2 fires started that way.
We graduated to a homemade cannon, which was billet steel bored out to hold 900 grains of black powder.

Hehe...somehow I knew fire and chemistry would lead the topics here...... Few years ago my son brought by his potato launcher...shot it down the street and watched the potato...neighbor got scared and called the cops.....so there I am standing in the street with this 4 foot ABS gun when the cops rolled up....LOL Neighbor was drunk so the cops kinda ignored him, made comment to me the potato gun was legal to have but don't scare the old folks with it Cop also said he'd have to try the ignitor setup this one had on his at home Yup, I haven't grown up yet
